China Mobile to Enhance TD-LTE, TD-SCDMA Base Station Deployment

An official from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced at the TD Smart Terminals and Mobile Internet Summit that China Mobile plans to increase its TD-LTE (Time Division-Long Term Evolution) and TD-SCDMA (Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) base station deployment in China, according to a July 31, 2012 report by ZDNet. China Mobile projects to establish 350,000 TD-LTE base stations by 2014, and 200,000 of the total will be completed this year. The company originally planned to construct 57,000 TD-SCDMA base stations by the end of 2012, and it is reported that the company now aims to build more than 400,000 base stations in China by 2014.
